On the morning of April 15th, I received a message from Chase’s mom Carrie, that Chase was in labor and they were headed to the hospital. When they had arrived at about 9:30 a.m., said she was at about 4 centimeters. I had a 10 am chiropractor appointment at Dr Saxton’s office here in Ottoville. I told Carrie I would message her after my appointment to see how she was progressing.
I no more than was at my appointment for 5 minutes, when my phone lit up. A message from Carrie informed me that Chase was at 8 centimeters. I took it upon myself to leave without an adjustment to run home and get my camera and head to Bluffton Hospital Blanchard Valley, which is about 40 minutes from my house. By the time I had gotten out of Ottoville, Carrie messages me and says she is at 10 centimeters and pushing. Needless to say, the 40 minute drive was made into a 30 minute drive. Thank goodness, I encountered no highway patrols or mishaps along the way. (* I do not usually drive at those speeds for ever).
I arrived at Bluffton Hospital and immediately found Chase on the maternity floor, still pushing. Since she had progressed so quickly, there was no time for an epidural and so Chase was about to have her little girl completely natural. A short twenty-five minutes later Liahna was born, becoming birth #22 for So The Story Goes Photography.
