Cora Is One | A Look Back |

A year ago, I spent my day with a couple of the most darling little girls as we waited for their sister Cora to be born!  I had previously done Cora’s big sister Charlotte’s birth story, which led to a wonderful friendship with her mom Kristen.

Happy Birthday Cora!

August-Back To School Photography Special $19.95

Best session price of the year! Because BACK TO SCHOOL is expensive!

So in a few weeks, the school’s hired photography company will come in to take pictures of your children.  Little Billy and Susie will be sat down in front of a blue background and given 30 seconds of camera time. After snapping off ONE picture, they will say “NEXT” and their back to school photo will be done until spring. Unless of course your Little Billie or Susie didn’t smile or blinked, then you will get another 30 seconds in a month or so.

And then you will be sent these photos in a big envelope with an order sheet where you can purchase these prints you really don’t care for and pay a ridiculous price for prints. And for the next 6 months that picture will hang on your wall until you replace it with the school’s spring time 30 second session photo.

Wouldn’t it be nice if you could be there during the session to make sure Little Billy or Susie has their hair combed? Or maybe have a background that isn’t like all the hundreds of other schools kids that came before them? Well here is your chance!

To schedule your August-Back To School Session for the low price of $19.95, click here and we will see you Sunday, August 14 at the Ottoville Park!

Megan & Steven |A Wedding Story| Dupont Downs Fort Wayne, Indiana

I first met Megan at  2015 Bridal Extravaganza in Fort Wayne, Indiana.  And then again when I did her and Steven’s engagement pictures at Lakeside Park and Rose Garden.  Megan and Steven 0007

On their wedding day, Megan, surrounded by her bridesmaids and mother, she prepared for her big day.  Inside the skirt of her dress, she had sewn a patch from her late brother’s shirt to remind her of his presence through out the day.

After a few photos, I met up with Steven and his groomsmen at Medical Protective Campus where Megan works for some group pictures of the guys..

Soon the ladies arrived but before we could do any pictures of them and the entire wedding party, Megan and Steven had pictures of Steven’s first look of her. DSC_3439

The outdoor ceremony was held at DuPont Downs where the couple exchanged vows and rings.  Untitled-1

Immediately upon arriving at their reception the bride and groom had their first dance as husband and wife. DSC_5646_1

Then Megan’s maid of honor gave an emotional toast that left everyone in attendance in tears. Followed by toast by Steven’s best men. Untitled-1

Dances with father and daughter and mother and son soon followed and then an anniversary dance highlighting Steven’s grandparents who have been married for sixty-five years.

The venue was beautifully decorated with a winery theme. And the flowers for the wedding were some of the most beautiful I have ever seen.  DSC_5307

Congrats to Megan & Steven and thank you for sharing your beautiful day with me.

Sarah & Jamie | A Wedding Story| Saint Michael Catholic Church Kalida, Ohio

I first met Sarah several years ago. Over the years, I have witnessed her children growing, the loss of her husband Greg to cancer and her finding love again with Jamie.  She has been an inspiration to so many as she has kept her faith in God through out it all.  So when Sarah asked me to be the photographer for her and Jamie’s church ceremony, I was delighted  to be part of this special event.

Sarah wore a simple but flowing white gown. Her mother, Nancy helped her get into her dress with Sarah’s daughters  Mia and Brynn by her side.  But before walking up the aisle, Sarah quietly read a letter written by Jamie. Somehow she was able to hold back the tears as she read.

As her oldest son Carter walked her up the aisle however, Sarah had a difficult time holding back her emotions as she looked upon her groom Jamie waiting for her.

With Sarah’s children standing at her and Jamie’s side, the couple exchanged vows.

Sarah’s brother Seth signed the communion hymn as their mother helped guide him.  What a beautiful gift Seth has and to share this with Jamie and Sarah on their wedding day made it even more beautiful.

The mass was concluded with Jamie and Sarah saying a prayer to the Virgin Mary and then Father’s blessings on them and the children. DSC_7975DSC_7985DSC_8053

The Maag Kids | A Family Story – Lifestyle Session |

Tabitha is one of my daughter’s friends from high school. Over the last few years I have watched as her family has grown size. A couple weeks ago, Tabitha and her husband Ryan have added Avery to their family. I enjoyed meeting her and playing with the boys!

Bryant has grown to like his little sister.  But still is very much mommy’s baby boy.

Brayden is mommy’s little helper.  He met me at the door, and showed me my way in.  When I asked him if I could take his new sister home with me….he said “Yes.”  But to his credit, he was distracted by his movie on tv so he may not know what he agreed to at the time.

And sweet Avery seems to have her days and nights messed up, so she slept most of the time I was there.  She resembles her big brothers while still looking like a little princess.

I think these three will be the best of friends as they grow and into their adult lives.

A Family Story | The Schnipke’s – Ottoville, Ohio |

The Schnipke’s are one of my favorite families I have the opportunity to take pictures of every summer.  Over the years, it has been such a pleasure to get to know Beth & Adam and their three children Quinton, Gretta, and Henry.

DSC_2298

Quinton has always been the responsible big brother. He takes good care of his little sister and little brother. When we did Quinton’s little brother Henry’s soccer pictures, Quinton was quick to show his brother how to pose for them.  Wise, smart, and athletic, I never get tired of snapping off a few pictures of him (even though the session was planned for the two younger one’s birthdays and family photos). DSC_2187

DSC_1926

Gretta has always been a princess who loves soccer but also can catch her twirling about.  To catch a real smile from her, you better get her to giggle about something, otherwise she will force a cheesy one or give you a completely goofy face. Over the last year, Gretta has grown up so much and come fall she will be headed off to kindergarten. DSC_7141

DSC_1799DSC_1510a

I think Beth doesn’t mind  girl time with Gretta from time to time however. DSC_1904

I just can’t get over that Henry is 3 years old.  Although he looks so much like his older brother, he has a little orneriness of his sister.  His smile and charm are so captivating, he has nearly everyone he knows wrapped around his little finger. DSC_7066

When you put these three kids together, you get some of the funnest images.  I am never disappointed in my session with the Schnipkes!
