I first met Megan at 2015 Bridal Extravaganza in Fort Wayne, Indiana. And then again when I did her and Steven’s engagement pictures at Lakeside Park and Rose Garden.
On their wedding day, Megan, surrounded by her bridesmaids and mother, she prepared for her big day. Inside the skirt of her dress, she had sewn a patch from her late brother’s shirt to remind her of his presence through out the day.
After a few photos, I met up with Steven and his groomsmen at Medical Protective Campus where Megan works for some group pictures of the guys..
Soon the ladies arrived but before we could do any pictures of them and the entire wedding party, Megan and Steven had pictures of Steven’s first look of her.
The outdoor ceremony was held at DuPont Downs where the couple exchanged vows and rings.
Immediately upon arriving at their reception the bride and groom had their first dance as husband and wife.
Then Megan’s maid of honor gave an emotional toast that left everyone in attendance in tears. Followed by toast by Steven’s best men.
Dances with father and daughter and mother and son soon followed and then an anniversary dance highlighting Steven’s grandparents who have been married for sixty-five years.
The venue was beautifully decorated with a winery theme. And the flowers for the wedding were some of the most beautiful I have ever seen.
Congrats to Megan & Steven and thank you for sharing your beautiful day with me.
I first met Sarah several years ago. Over the years, I have witnessed her children growing, the loss of her husband Greg to cancer and her finding love again with Jamie. She has been an inspiration to so many as she has kept her faith in God through out it all. So when Sarah asked me to be the photographer for her and Jamie’s church ceremony, I was delighted to be part of this special event.
Sarah wore a simple but flowing white gown. Her mother, Nancy helped her get into her dress with Sarah’s daughters Mia and Brynn by her side. But before walking up the aisle, Sarah quietly read a letter written by Jamie. Somehow she was able to hold back the tears as she read.
As her oldest son Carter walked her up the aisle however, Sarah had a difficult time holding back her emotions as she looked upon her groom Jamie waiting for her.
With Sarah’s children standing at her and Jamie’s side, the couple exchanged vows.
Sarah’s brother Seth signed the communion hymn as their mother helped guide him. What a beautiful gift Seth has and to share this with Jamie and Sarah on their wedding day made it even more beautiful.
The mass was concluded with Jamie and Sarah saying a prayer to the Virgin Mary and then Father’s blessings on them and the children.
No one deserves a love story as much as my friend Sue. And she has found such a love story with her new husband, Dan. The two were married during a small Catholic ceremony on a beautiful day in May, with their families looking on.
Congrats to the both of you!
Chad proposed to Courtney in 2015 at a Tiger’s game in Detroit. Of course she said yes! The two started right away making plans for their April 2016 wedding. From the dress, to the venue, to the colors, Courtney had a wedding fit for a queen.
The two Kalida graduates were married at Saint Michael’s Catholic Church. Of course Father Mark presented a gift to Chad (like he does with so many of the weddings he performs). Chad, being a former baseball player was presented with a ball and mitt. And then Father spent the next few moments comparing marriage to the gift Chad received.
After the ceremony, the two spent some time visiting some establishments in Putnam County before arriving at the Kalida K of C Hall for their reception. The entire day a smile never left Courtney’s face. She had found her prince and anyone looking at her knew she was very much in love.
Not too far north and east near Lake Erie there is a beautiful winery and restaurant called Mon Ami Winery & Restaurant. On Saturdays Mon Ami features a seafood buffet with snow crab legs and perch. I met Kathy and Chris there for their engagement session.
After we snapped a few images at the winery, we headed east a few minutes to Marblehead Lighthouse. The skies were a beautiful blue but with temperatures in the 50s, we didn’t stay too long. We did however get some great photos of Kathy and Chris with this beautiful backdrop.
Wow what a year! Weddings, births, families, classes, and so much more. 2015 went by so fast! Here are a few of my favorite images of the year! Looking forward to 2016 and lots of new ideas and challenges! Happy New Year from So The Story Goes Photography!
I have known Erica for several years now. I had done her senior pictures and so when I saw she was engaged, I was hoping I would have the opportunity to photograph her wedding too.
The day had started out rainy but by the time the ceremony began, the rain had cleared and the day ended up very beautiful. Their wedding reception happen to be the same place mine was nearly 30 years ago. It was awesome to recall my first dance on the very floor her and Zac danced.
